AuRA™ enterprise
M & E solution moves forward at SAS Group
MRO system project implementation planning and roll-out
follows completion of successful proof-of-concept
La Jolla, CA – February 8, 2005
MIRO Technologies Inc., a leading aviation Maintenance, Repair
& Overhaul software company, announced today that an enterprise
AuRA solution for SAS Group is now moving to the final system project
planning and implementation phase for Scandinavian Airlines. This
news follows the successful completion of an AuRA proof-of-concept
in Stockholm. Based on the enterprise deal, all other SAS Group
subsidiary airlines, third-party airlines and affiliates, will have
the opportunity to benefit from AuRA implementations in subsequent
phases.
Ulf Nystrom, head of Technical Operations at Scandinavian Airlines
said, “The AuRA implementation will give us the powerful system
we need to strengthen our maintenance and engineering operations
and substantially improve efficiency and lower costs.” He
added, “This new MRO system solution will save us millions
of dollars annually in systems operations and maintenance.”
Nystrom noted that about 15% of the projected savings can be attributed
to the operation and administration of the old legacy MRO system
being replaced.
“The addition of SAS Group to our growing list of AuRA users
is important to MIRO and our customer community as well,”
stated Vincent Monteparte, president of MIRO Technologies. “We
will be enhancing AuRA to meet Scandinavian’s requirements,
which will ultimately benefit all AuRA users,” he continued.
The initial scope of the project will implement an AuRA solution
for Scandinavian Airlines for JAR OPS1 (M) activity that includes
engineering management, technical records, maintenance control,
maintenance planning and work package management. Future phases
of the project will extend the scope of the project to seamlessly
integrate JAR145 functions within SAS Technical Services (STS),
a subsidiary of SAS Group and the leading Nordic supplier of full-service
MRO with 3,800 employees. STS will leverage the AuRA technology
as parts of its engineering services offering to its airline customers.
