Aviation Maintenance Magazine Awards GOLD STAR to MIRO
La Jolla, CA – December 9, 2004 – The publishers of
Aviation Maintenance magazine honored MIRO Technologies with a STAR
Innovation Award at the recent STAR Symposium held in Phoenix, AZ.
Aviation Maintenance Publisher Nancy O’Brien ( as indicated
below, right) presented the STAR “Outstanding Enterprise
Integration Award” to MIRO in recognition of successful integration
of its GOLD™ software application with other industry leading
applications and U.S. military supply systems. Vincent Monteparte
(middle), President, and John Hayes (left), Director
of Business Development for A&D, accepted the award on behalf
of the MIRO team.

GOLD is MIRO’s flagship product that has evolved into a powerful
system for aftermarket product support for repair, maintenance,
remanufacturing, and refurbishment of sophisticated equipment and
systems including aircraft, helicopters, rockets, computers and
electronic components. MIRO’s customers use GOLD to enable,
support, and improve maintenance, logistics, and record keeping
processes and functions to reduce costs, improve productivity, reduce
turn-times and enable better management decision-making. Maintenance
organizations also rely on GOLD for ensuring airworthiness and optimal
flight availability throughout the equipment’s life cycle.
By seamlessly integrating with U.S. military retail supply systems,
GOLD provides total asset visibility of contractor-managed items
in the battlefield and is totally transparent to the war fighter.
MIRO Technologies, using GOLD’s flexible, robust and industry-unique
Application Program Interface (API) architecture, has integrated
GOLD with three other suppliers’ applications to provide a
system to manage all aspects of aircraft modification and retrofit
where manufacturing and fabrication are required. MIRO successfully
integrated a manufacturing planning application (Compass MRP from
Manugistics); an engineering, quality, manufacturing bill of material
management, and shop floor management application (HMS-CAPP, HMS-Bill
of Material Management, HMS-Quality Management, and HMS-Shop Floor
Management from HMS Software); and an advanced capacity planning
application (CheckPlan from 4Sight Technologies) for depot repair
and overhaul operations for a major aircraft manufacturer.
In addition, MIRO’s API architecture provides real-time information
conduits between GOLD and the customers’ legacy purchasing,
accounting, time and attendance, and performance management (earned
value) systems. This enterprise suite is unique in the industry
and provides maintenance and modification organizations with all
the planning, management and control capabilities typically available
only to manufacturing enterprises.
MIRO’s GOLD and WRAMTM (Work Recording & Asset Management
system for the U.K. Ministry of Defence) customers include AAR Corporation,
Aerospace Integration Corporation, The Boeing Company, General Atomics,
General Dynamics, Hamilton Sundstrand, Honeywell, L-3 Communications,
Lockheed Martin, NASA, Northrop Grumman, Pratt & Whitney, Raytheon,
Rolls Royce, Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm, Royal Australian Air Force,
Royal Malaysian Air Force and the U.S. Navy.
