UK MoD contracts Miro Technologies for HUMS integration on Apache helicopter programme

La Jolla, CA – July 21, 2009

Miro Technologies announced today that the UK MoD had contracted for the first phase of an integration project to link the WRAM Online™ (Work Recording & Asset Management) system and the health and usage monitoring system (HUMS) for the Apache Attack helicopter program operated by the British Army. The Apache engineering and asset management is supported on WRAM Online, the UK MoD's bespoke version of Miro's flagship GOLDesp™ COTS application. The project will automatically take lifing data from each aircraft and update the electronic technical log to provide accurate usage data, thus providing a projected improvement of up to 20% in the intervals of scheduled maintenance to be performed.

"We are delighted to be starting this phase of what will be an exciting step forward for the Apache programme," commented Vincent Monteparte, President and CEO of Miro Technologies. "We are proud to be part of a team providing improvements in aircraft availability for important weapon systems deployed in the field today. WRAM Online provides a unique capability for supporting deployed assets, un-matched in capability and proven stability. The Apache HUMS integration is part of a move to provide broader capability of coherent IT systems for the end customer. We hope it will make life easier for front-line troops and assist in keeping helicopters mission-ready."

The project integrates with the on-board HUMS system provided by GE Aviation through a ground station that downloads the flight data and fault messages from the aircraft. Additional phases are planned to introduce more sophisticated capabilities to further reduce end-user workload and provide a single-box solution for Apache ground maintenance support.
