Major Defense Contractor Selects GOLDesp for Asset Management
La Jolla, CA, USA – July 17, 2008
Miro Technologies’ GOLDesp™ Asset Management software was recently selected by one of the world’s largest aerospace and defense companies to track U.S. Government and company-owned property that is used to support all military and Government contracts. GOLDesp will support eleven geographic sites for the contractor, with conversion beginning this year and all sites live by the end of 2009.
After conducting an internal cost benefit analysis, the contractor decided to standardize on GOLDesp as their corporate property solution and convert any programs currently using other systems to GOLDesp. GOLDesp will then track all company assets or “tagged” property and do annual reporting to the U.S. Government for Government-owned property in the company’s possession.
GOLDesp was already the corporate solution for aftermarket logistics support and is a key component of the contractor’s Global Sustainment Network, supporting weapons platforms such as the C-17 Globemaster III, the AH-64D Apache Longbow, the CH-47 Chinook, V-22 Osprey, F/A-18 Super Hornet, F-15 Eagle, E-3 AWCAS, E-4B, E-6 TACAMO, and T-43. In addition to these platforms, iGOLD™, Miro’s integrated depot repair solution, is supporting C-17, KC-135, KC-10 and MD-10 modification and retrofit at the company’s depots at three sites in the United States.
About the GOLDesp Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Module
The GOLDesp Asset module provides everything you need to create tagged property records, receive and account for new tagged property items, and perform a variety of transactions, including loans, contract transfers, and dispositions. Tagged property, such as special test equipment, special tooling, plant equipment, computer equipment, etc., can be Government-owned, Government-furnished, company-owned or contractor-acquired. Unlike separate software packages that only support property tracking and reporting, GOLDesp’s Asset or Property Module is completely integrated into a single integrated logistics solution that supports Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contracts from contractor-operated wholesale supply management all the way down to forward or flight line maintenance, including deployed units.
