Grandstar Cargo selects AuRA ASP solution from MainTrack
La Jolla, CA, USA – June 26, 2008
Chinese start-up airline Grandstar Cargo has selected MainTrack’s Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) solution based on the AuRA™ software from Miro Technologies, a leading provider of enterprise MRO and logistics support software for the Defense and Commercial aviation markets. AuRA will be delivered as a Managed Service by MainTrack Services B.V. (MainTrack), the Application Service Provider (ASP) who has teamed with Miro and Comsenso in the Netherlands to provide a hosted service for airlines over the web.
“MainTrack’s ASP model is the perfect solution to support an entry-into-service for a new start airline such as ours,” said Ching Yao Liu, Grandstar’s VP Maintenance & Engineering. “The simplicity of accessing AuRA over the Internet suits our operations,” he continued. “AuRA will help us maintain tight controls over our engineering and maintenance costs as we continue to expand. The beauty of the ASP concept is that we don’t need to invest in expensive servers, database licenses or software licenses and build our own IT department. And we only pay for the service as we use it. For a start-up, the change in cash flow profile is a significant benefit.”
“MainTrack also takes care of the integration complexities for us and frees us up to do what we should be doing, and that is flying planes and maximizing profits,” continued Mr. Liu. “The ASP also means we can afford to use world-class IT systems, usually only affordable for large airlines, rather than cooking up a homemade solution or settling for second best old technology products from little software companies”.
“We are delighted to welcome Grandstar Cargo to the MainTrack ASP community,” stated Marcel Kalsbeek, joint Managing Partner and co-founder of the MainTrack Group. “We are happy to see the trend for airlines to outsource their IT applications is clearly catching on.
AuRA is a fully integrated maintenance and supply solution specifically designed for the commercial MRO market. AuRA streamlines aviation business processes and tackles some of the most complex challenges facing maintenance operations, such as configuration management. A highly flexible solution, AuRA can be customized to an airline’s preferences and tailored to the organization’s unique structure through AuRA’s unique enterprise model.
