MIRO Technologies joins JBoss Certified Partner program
La Jolla, CA – December 15, 2005
MIRO Technologies announced today it has joined the JBoss® Certified Partner program.
As a certified solutions partner, MIRO is using the open source JBoss Enterprise
Middleware Suite (JEMS™) to support ongoing J2EE business application development
on behalf of its aerospace and defense customers.
The adoption of JBoss JEMS is expected to generate costs savings for MIRO in the IT
environment, and greater value for MIRO's customer base as it rules out the need for
expensive third-party middleware when implementing new MIRO products. Small and
mid-sized customers that adopt GOLD™ or WRAM™ solutions can use JEMS as a backbone
to develop other applications.
MIRO also sees benefits in terms of architectural control and flexibility. With open
source software, MIRO developers have total access to the code, which they can fix or
maintain the code as necessary without outside intervention.
"The introduction of JEMS will extend the current J2EE development environment used by
MIRO," stated MIRO CTO Paul Extance. "MIRO architects and developers will now have the
full support of JBoss and its network when determining which open source components get
included within the corporate architecture, and how they are best used." he continued.
"The JBoss JEMS platform provides much of the core architecture we need with the
flexibility to extend the code base for specific needs. Professional open source is the
best way to achieve this level of quality and flexibility and at no additional cost to
our customers."
"We're pleased to have MIRO on board as a certified solutions partner," said Tom Cooper,
JBoss vice president of worldwide channels. "With its history and traction in aerospace
and defense, MIRO will be invaluable in helping extend JEMS solutions into those key
markets. We look forward to working with MIRO to ensure optimal performance between JEMS
and GOLD and WRAM Online."
JEMS is the market's leading open source platform for SOA (service-oriented architecture).
An alternative to today's pricey, monolithic software stacks, JEMS offers
platform-independent, plug-and-play technologies that enterprises can mix and match to
build applications, processes and web services to drive business agility. JEMS products
include JBoss Application Server, Hibernate, JBoss Eclipse IDE, JBoss Portal, JBoss Cache
and Tomcat.
