GOLD™ SOFTWARE IMPLEMENTED FOR U.S. AIR FORCE 'SENSOR' PROGRAM
La Jolla, CA – December 1, 2005
MIRO Technologies' GOLD™ software was recently successfully implemented by
ITT Industries' Systems Division in Colorado Springs, CO to provide
logistics support to the U.S. Air Force's Electronic Systems Center
System Engineering and Sustainment Integrator (SENSOR). ITT Industries
is the prime contractor for SENSOR.
GOLD was selected by ITT for its robust inventory management and repair tracking
capabilities and ability to communicate seamlessly with DOD legacy supply systems,
like the USAF Standard Base Supply System. GOLD is a Commercial-Off-the-Shelf
(COTS) product, representing Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) industry
best-practice processes in a Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) environment. It
allows a contractor to support an installed weapons system by acting as a Contractor
Inventory Control Point (C-ICP). GOLD now supports 15 of 18 USAF Contractor
Supported Weapons System (CSWS) today.
Over the past 30 years, sophisticated sensor systems that can look outward over 20,000
miles in space have evolved into a global collection of silent sentinels that feed
information to the Air Force Space Command's Cheyenne Mountain underground complex in
Colorado Springs, Colorado. These sensors -- a combination of mechanical, phased-array
and electro-optical devices -- are some of the most complex pieces of equipment in the
Air Force sensor inventory ‚ and they are of vital importance to national security.
ITT Systems Division, under SENSOR, now has the responsibility for sustaining and
modernizing these sophisticated homeland defense sensors, which include sites at Eglin
Air Force Base (AFB), Florida, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Beale AFB, California, Robins
AFB, Georgia, Thule, Greenland, Clear, Alaska, Fylingdales, U.K., Cavalier Air Force
Station in North Dakota, Socorro, New Mexico, Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean
Territories, Maui, Hawaii, and Vardo, Norway.
"We are thrilled about the selection of our GOLD software by ITT," said Vince Monteparte,
President of MIRO Technologies. "This selection solidifies our standing as the system of
choice when it comes to managing these Air Force Contractor Supported Weapons Systems.
We're very proud of our reputation with the Air Force and their contractors."
"ITT recognized GOLD software as an extremely powerful and versatile tool for managing
CSWS logistics data relating to item-management responsibilities," said SENSOR Program
Director Ken Nachbar. "GOLD software enables ITT to exchange essential logistics data
with government agencies in standard DoD formats. The GOLD suite of logistics software
has clearly enhanced support to our customers, the Air Force Electronic Systems
Command, and Air Force Space Command" said Nachbar.
