UK MoD Reception Recognizes Handover of WRAM Online, Industry Collaboration

Miro hosted a reception on April 19th at the Museum of Army Flying in Middle Wallop (Stockbridge, Hampshire) to recognize and celebrate the handover of WRAM Online™ (Work Recording & Asset Management) to the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). The well-attended event was also a celebration of the successful, long-term collaboration between MoD and Industry, which has consistently delivered high-quality Enterprise and Asset Management (E&AM) support to the Front Line and throughout the Support Chain.

DJS_003 Major General Malcolm Wood, Director General Logistics, Supply Chain, formally accepted WRAM Online into service on behalf of the MoD for all three UK service branches - the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm, Army Aviation and the Royal Air Force. Vincent Monteparte, President & CEO of Miro, presented a plaque to Major General Wood that acknowledged the critical role played by the MoD in the collaboration with Miro to design, develop and implement WRAM Online.

"This is a really good example of the private sector and the MoD working together and is part of the whole drive to save money," said Col. Alan Clacher, who heads a team of 60 based at Andover's Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S). "Speaking as a soldier, the more money we can save the more kit we can put out onto the front line," he said when the equipment was unveiled to invited guests at the Museum of Army Flying. Other speakers from the user community also shared their experiences of using WRAM Online and working with Miro, including Captain Terry O'Reilly of the Royal Navy.

Miro Technologies has enjoyed a successful working relationship with the MoD since the early 1990s, and since this time the user community has progressively increased, with the addition of new aircraft types and fleets to WRAM Online, which today supports nearly 600 fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

AuRA Selected by SAS Braathens

PVAgent SAS Braathens, Norway's largest scheduled airline operator, has selected the AuRA™ product suite to support aircraft maintenance and engineering management.  The scope of the AuRA program will include engineering, planning and line maintenance for the entire SAS Braathens fleet, which includes 52 Boeing 737s and 6 Fokker F50s. AuRA will be rolled out throughout the SAS Braathens system, with the implementation starting immediately.

"We selected AuRA because of its airline industry specific focus and comprehensive functionality," said Terje Helgaland, Assistant Director of Engineering for SAS Braathens. "The ability to integrate a modern COTS system such as AuRA into our legacy systems was also key," he continued.

"We are delighted that SAS Braathens has decided to move forward with Miro and the AuRA system," said Vincent Monteparte, President & CEO of Miro Technologies, Inc., "and we look forward to a successful implementation for our newest AuRA customer."

Defense Contractor Enhances ERP System Logistics Support with GOLD Implementation

A major defense contractor recently completed a successful implementation of Miro's GOLD™ software for repair and overhaul (R & O) operations at multiple sites within their electronics systems sector.  The GOLD Asset Management module was also implemented to track Government and contractor-owned fixed assets (tagged property) within the sector.

The U.S. based defense contractor is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of advanced electronics for military, civil and commercial use. The GOLD installation allows the electronic systems sector to standardize its R & O business processes and fixed asset accounting at seven sites spread throughout the United States. GOLD has become a key repository of quality and reliability data, critical to the achievement of their customers' performance-based requirements.  GOLD was able to effectively track serialized parts for repair and remanufactured items and incorporate technical directives and engineering changes, which was not possible with their legacy enterprise resource system.  Additionally, GOLD has now been interfaced with the firm's SAP (ERP) software.

GOLD software enables the firm's electronics sector to exchange essential logistics data with U.S. Department of Defense agencies in standard DoD formats. The GOLD suite of logistics software has clearly enhanced support to the firm's customers, including the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy, and several foreign military sales (FMS) overseas customers.   Due to the success of the implementation at the first seven sites, additional repair centers are slated for implementation of GOLD in coming months.

White Paper Discusses 'Interoperability' and 'Deployability' of ILS Projects

Frost & Sullivan, a global growth consulting company, has recently published a white paper entitled "Interoperability and Deployability of Integrated Logistics Systems to Support the Modern Military" that references the use of Miro's WRAM Online application by the UK MoD in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. The white paper explores why maintenance and repair information ‘interoperability' is mandatory for future ILS projects to achieve total asset visibility, and then goes on to explain the importance of ILS ‘deployability' to enable ‘foxhole to factory' supply chain capability.

Miro Technologies has obtained permission from Frost & Sullivan to distribute this informative white paper at no cost to all recipients of this newsletter.  If you wish to download this free white paper, just click on the link below.

New '24/7' Customer Support System will Go Live in June

Miro customers will soon enjoy ‘24 / 7' access to a Miro customer support system via a new internet website ‘Self Service' portal.  Effective June 2007, customers will have the ability to interact on-demand with the system to log new tickets, view existing ticket status, update or cancel existing tickets, and generate and print status reports. Customers will receive formal notification of the new portal, along with ‘How To' documentation, in early June.

"Our customers will realize immediate feedback and meaningful benefits from the new Self Service portal," said Ralph Evans, Manager, Support Services. "The new system will also help our internal customer support team to better manage customer service interactions and streamline workflow processes," he continued.  The system will also provide Miro management with a Dashboard to conduct overall inquiries of Customer Support (CS) operations, activities and performance.

Miro has acquired the collaborative case management software from Neocase Software, including three modules – Customer Support, Self Service and Knowledge Base. Miro plans to employ the Knowledge Base module internally, at least initially. The Knowledge Base search engine will categorize and store case information, thus allowing CS personnel the ability to research past issues and their resolution, including rapid access to ticket history. The new system will be interfaced with Miro's Change Request (CR) database to receive automatic updates of CR's status related to an existing ticket.
