Miro launches GOLDesp

New supply and maintenance software fuses latest web and enterprise technologies, adds new functionality

GOLDesp LogoMiro Technologies will formally launch GOLDesp™ at the upcoming GOLD User Group Conference, providing customers their first look at the new web-based application. GOLDesp is a new Java EE compliant supply and maintenance application designed to provide aerospace defense contractors and suppliers with an exciting new level in aftermarket logistics software in terms of technology, user experience, functionality and enterprise integration. Miro's new "Enterprise Service Platform" fuses the latest web and enterprise technologies with the best-of-breed functionality from Miro's rich GOLD™ software product line, resulting in a flexible, integrated supply and maintenance system capable of supporting depot level and in-theatre logistics for military and contractor personnel in a variety of PBL and weapons systems availability contracts.

"GOLDesp is much more than just a web-based version of our successful client-server GOLD product line," said Vincent Monteparte, President & CEO of Miro Technologies. "The 'ESP' in the product name also promises 'Extraordinary System Potential', and we have planned for new modules and interfaces to further enhance both the supply and maintenance capabilities of our product.”

GOLDesp supply system enhancements planned include a new Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) module to make it easier for OEMs and their suppliers to decide how much stock to purchase and where to stock it. Miro also is planning the addition of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to assist in warehousing and material movement scenarios. Maintenance system enhancements planned for GOLDesp include interfaces to IETMs (Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals) and legacy military service maintenance data.

RADM Daniel H. Stone to keynote GOLD Conference

RADM Daniel H. StoneThe 2007 GOLD™ User Group Conference scheduled for January 23-25, 2007 in La Jolla will bring together GOLD users to learn about planned product enhancements and product evolution strategy, hear "lessons learned" directly from GOLD™ customers, and participate in feedback sessions that help drive Miro's product planning and support. The annual Conferences also offer a great opportunity to meet and network with key and other GOLD customers.

The first day of the Conference will kick-off with our keynote speaker, Rear Admiral Daniel H. Stone, Commander, Naval Supply Systems Command and Chief of Supply Corps. RADM Stone's opening remarks will be followed by an overview of the U.S. aerospace & defense logistics market presented by Ron Stearns, Principal and Sr. Analyst for Frost & Sullivan. Miro's top management team will then update the group on the exciting launch of our new web-based GOLDesp product and outline plans to migrate GOLD customers to this new platform.

The second day of the conference will feature informative presentations from GOLD and WRAM™ customers and industry consultants on current topics such as third-party logistics. User will also caucus and participate in a feedback session in the afternoon. As a special bonus, Conference delegates are invited to be our guest in the Miro 'Skybox' to watch Tiger Woods defend his title at the 2007 Buick Invitational at nearby, spectacular Torrey Pines Golf Course on day three.

All Conference events will be held at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa. GOLD customers are invited to register online for the Conference here.

U. S. Navy T-45 Goshawk program upgraded

T-45 Jets Miro recently announced a major upgrade to the GOLD™ system in use by the U.S. Navy's T-45 Goshawk program at Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas and Naval Air Station Meridian, Mississippi. Over 180 T-45 aircraft are currently being supported by the GOLD software at both of these two sites.

In successfully upgrading to the latest version of GOLD, the U.S. Navy and its contractors, L-3 Communications/Vertex Aerospace and Rolls Royce, gained eight years of previously released GOLD software improvements that will now be applied to further improve performance of the T-45 program and take advantage of future software releases. The T-45 program is the first Miro customer to get GOLD 2007 PR1, featuring Uniface v8.3 and Oracle 10g. Both upgrades are major technical steps forward from prior software versions used by the T-45 program.

In the demanding 24/7 training environment, the number of maintenance actions performed for the T-45 program is high—over 18,000 transactions per month. GOLD handles the load without interruption. Additionally, data accuracy flowing from the T-45 program has remained consistently high throughout the years because of the verification and validation programs inherent in GOLD that conform to the U.S. Navy's exacting Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) standards.

Miro sponsored soccer team

It may come as somewhat of a shock to our colleagues in Miro's UK offices in Yeovil, but we are excited about soccer over here! The 'Blue Sharks,' sponsored by Miro in the La Jolla Youth Soccer League (Boys League – under 8 years)), just completed a great regular season (5 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses) and now move on to tournament play. Our own Raj Makwana, Sr. Director, Product Group (3rd from left, back row) and son Tyler (4th from left, back row) can be seen in the official team photo. Raj, who helps coach the team, predicts the Sharks will "go all the way." The LJYSL is a local Non-Profit organization sanctioned by the California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) that has provided soccer programs for the community for over 30 years.
