Inside Sales/Pre-Sales Engineer Position Description
Position Description/Skills:
The Inside Sales/Pre-Sales Engineer position is responsible for assisting sales executives with new business development and for providing product demonstrations and administrative support to opportunity win teams throughout the sales cycles.
In order to accomplish these objectives, the Inside Sales/Pre-Sales Engineer must possess the following skills:
- Ability to execute all aspects of the inside sales process and report status weekly according to company guidelines
- Ability to develop and deliver compelling demonstrations of complex enterprise-level software systems
- Assist in the development of detailed proposal responses
The position will be a direct report to the Vice President of Business Development, Aerospace & Defense with dotted line to the Director of Marketing.
The ideal candidate:
- is a recent graduate of a prestigious university with an engineering or information science degree or a recently discharged military officer with a background in aviation, maintenance or supply management
- has a solid working knowledge of the core business processes used by corporations or the military to manage day-to-day operations
- understands how enterprise information systems are used by corporations or the military to enable and sustain business processes
- is self-motivated and a self-starter
- takes direction well
- is open to constructive feedback

Professional requirements:
- Screens all incoming leads.
- Evaluates, qualifies and assigns leads to sales executives in accordance with company guidelines.
- Utilizes Sale Force Automation tools to track and manage all leads and sales opportunities.
- Participates in sales calls with sales executives in person, via WebEx, or on conference calls to understand and identify business needs of prospective customers.
- Creates demonstration process flows, system flows, demo scripts, and guides that support the value propositions that have been created for the products.
- Builds and maintains product demonstration environments for each of MIRO's product lines.
- Assists sales executives by demonstrating/explaining the functional capabilities of MIRO's products to sales prospects and existing clients.
- Participates in all technical pre-sales activities including meetings, demonstration preparation, RFI/RFP response creation, Proof of Concepts, assessments, etc.
- Works with the Marketing & Sales team, Product Development team, and Implementation Services in the development of effective product demonstration and positioning strategies for opportunities.
- Understands the technical components of a web-based enterprise class software system.
- Working knowledge of relational databases.
- Basic knowledge of current programming and markup languages such as JEE, XML, HTML.
Education/Experience
Four year college degree in Industrial Engineering or Computer Science and two years of practical experience with a major corporation.
Or
Recently discharged U.S. military officer with a background in aviation, maintenance or supply.
Or
Five years of enterprise software experience (consulting, sales and/or pre-sales).

- Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and leadership ability, combined with an analytical and creative mind to evaluate new opportunities
- Travel, including international travel, is required

Compensation:
Base Salary + commission, expenses and benefits
